OAuth 2.0 flows for custom identity stacks

OAuth 2.0 authorization flows for custom identity providers and partner-tenant federation.

Compatible withInnoactive Portal

OAuth 2.0 is the IETF-standard authorization framework that lets one application delegate access to another on behalf of a user — it's the underlying mechanism behind most modern API and SSO flows.

Innoactive Portal speaks OAuth 2.0 natively. When SAML or OpenID Connect don't fit — typically because you're federating with a partner tenant, exposing Portal to an API client, or running a custom identity stack — Portal accepts the standard OAuth flows directly.

With Innoactive Portal

Reach for the OAuth 2.0 integration when your identity scenario is non-standard: a partner organization signing into your Portal tenant with their own IdP, a service account driving Portal via API, or a custom corporate auth stack that doesn't expose a SAML metadata document. Portal implements the standard flows so the integration is a configuration exercise.

Highlights

  • Standard authorization-code flow with PKCE.
  • Resource owner password credentials for service-account scenarios (where allowed by policy).
  • Custom token introspection for partner-tenant identity bridges.
